Show and Tell activity was organised on October 18th. Students have shown and have spoken confidently something about their favourite fruit. It helped the children developed their self-esteem as they were encouraged to say a sentence or two about it and answered prompt questions. It also helped them organize their thoughts about the said topic.
Fruit Salad Day was held on October 22nd. The students enjoyed making a fruit salad in the comfort of their home. They identified the different kinds of fruits in a fruit salad and learned the importance of fresh fruits & its nutritional benefits. It also made them aware where to find the fruits and understood its importance by emphasizing the need of fresh fruits in our daily diet.
Sandwich Making planned on October 29th is postponed to a later date. October 29 was declared holiday.
Talent Show was organised on October 21st online. This activity was an opportunity for students to develop their self-confidence and boost their self-esteem. Our young stars displayed their talents with confidence and enthusiasm. It featured songs, dances, playing of different instruments, magic, hula hoop exhibitions, art & craft, including a student doing the disk jockey. It was pleasure watching our budding star perform in front of their peers with poise and aplomb.
Thematic Assembly was held on October 26th. Through this online assembly, students from division ‘K’ recalled the importance of eating fruits. A compiled video of each student shared their inputs of the different fruits & vegetables and the benefits it gives to our body. They were involved in dance and action song about fruits & vegetables wearing headbands & pictures and drawings about the theme. It helped them know the benefits of eating fruits & vegetables to one’s health and body.
Grade 1 (Girls)
English Declamation competition was conducted on October 7th. The purpose for students was improvement in pronunciation and comprehension & speaking skills in English. It was an enriching learning experience for all of them. Topics were ‘What happiness means to me?, If I had superpower, and What if Sun did not rise one day?’.
Islamic Nasheed Competition was conducted on October 22nd. This competition aimed to spread and create awareness about Islam among students. They learnt to recite the verses from the Holy Quran and gained respect for their worthy participation.
Grade 1 (Boys)
Nasheed Competition planned on October 29th is postponed to next month. October 29 was declared a public holiday.
Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)
Declamations were conducted on October 5th in ‘English’ for grade 1 boys and on October 28th in ‘Hindi’ for grade 2 boys. These competitions were opportunities for students to gain confidence and to deliver their pieces on a virtual platform. It also helped to develop their audibility, fluency and expression in language skills.
Open House planned on October 26th & 27th is postponed to December, 2020 due to continuation of learning and teaching in DL mode.
Grade 2 (Boys)
Qirat Competition was conducted on October 28th. The objective was to inculcate love of reciting the Holy Quran in the manner taught by the Prophet (PBUH). Students learnt to follow and recite the good sayings/verses in the Holy Quran.
Grade 3 (Girls)
Qirat Competition planned on October 29th was held on November 1st. October 29 was declared a public holiday.
Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
International Day of Non-Violence (Gandhi Jayanti) was held on October 1st. Students were able to answer the online quiz based on Non- Violence. It aimed to promote awareness and importance of Non-Violence and Peace.
World Food Day was celebrated on October 14th. This day created awareness among students about how to prevent food wastage. It helped to increase their awareness about not wasting food.
Tinker Cad Making competition was conducted on October 26th. The purpose was to encourage students to showcase their skills in creating different models in Tinker Cad. It helped to develop and improve their 3D skills.
Open House meeting planned on October 27th is postponed for a later date.
Student Council Meeting was organised on October 28th. Student Council members took part in the meeting to discussed relevant school matters. It also aimed to develop their leadership skills, time management, responsibility and discipline.
Grade 3 (Boys)
Qirat Competition was conducted on October 26th. This online inter-house competition helped to inculcate love of reciting the Holy Quran in the manner taught by the Prophet (PBUH). It was an inspirational event for students.
Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Live, Love and Laugh (L3 Session) was continued till this month. Every morning students were involved in school prayer, thought for the day and mindfulness session. It was a healthy way of starting their day. It also gave them energetic start along with some thoughtfulness.
Online Recess Radio was continued till this month. This activity offered entertainment along with information by various ways. Students prepared speeches on relevant topics emphasizing on important days, recent happenings, basic etiquettes or even their views and suggestions on school activities. It was a platform to voice their opinions which truly matter. It was also a unique form to develop their public speaking skills and to boosts their confidence to speak in an in-house entertainment platform provided by the school.
International Day of Non-Violence (Gandhi Jayanti) – SST was held on October 1st. The purpose was to spread the message of non -violence and strive to build a better future for all through peace. Students attempted artworks in Async classes on the topic. They also dressed up like Gandhiji and spoke about his thoughts and vision. It helped to develop their knowledge on the topic better. FTF students performed a Nukkad Natak and participated in a walk.
World Food Day (SST) was celebrated on October 14th. Students made a poster to create awareness on the topic. It highlighted the importance of not wasting food.
Autodesk Elimination Round was organised on October 19th. This activity aimed to encourage students to actively learn Autodesk. They were engaged in Quiz on Autodesk. Students were eliminated for participation in the next round.
Open House planned on October 27th was cancelled.
Student Council Meeting was organised on October 28th. This meeting helped Student Council members to enhance their views on the topics ‘Archaeology Excavation in the UAE in the past year’ and ‘Importance of Emirati culture and how they embraced the past through the archaeological excavation’. It also created awareness amongst other students. Debate on ‘New Dubai and Old Dubai. Which is better? Why?’ was also included.
Online Clubs are commencing from November 17th onwards for KG 1 to Grade 4.
A Talk for Parents of grades 1 to 4 boys and girls whose ward receives learning support was held on October 1st via MS Team Live. This talk focused on overcoming distance learning challenges for students of determination. It helped to equip parents with ways to overcome their ward’s distance learning challenges.
Gandhi Jayanti activity was conducted on October 1st. It was a heartfelt tribute to the man who gave India the real taste of freedom. Gandhi’s teachings, sacrifices and dedication was emphasized. Students were deeply influenced by Gandhi’s powerful messages, and life lessons.
PTCS was organised from October 4th till 8th. Student’s progress and growth were shared to parents. Parents also shared their feedbacks about how lessons are going on. Strategies that might help the parents on their ward’s progress were also discussed.
National Mental Health Awareness was held on October 11th. Through this activity, students have realized and appreciated their family more for spending time together. Children learned a lot from the story as they realized how happy they are being playful together and have even drawn something that they enjoyed most with their family. This activity had helped the students think about finding happiness in everything that they do. It also helped the children boost their mental well-being.
Pink Day was held on October 27th. With this activity, children explored different engaging activities with Pink Colour. They also identified pink as a colour that signifies love, beauty and kindness. This activity was done to show support for Pink October for ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’. Children learned the importance of taking care of one’s self and having a regular check up.
Gandhi Jayanti activity was conducted on October 1st. The objective was to mark the birth anniversary of our 'Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi who played a key role in India's independence. In honor of his remarkable deeds and to inculcate the importance of patriotism, students celebrated his special day through a Character Play where selected students speak about his many influential attributes during his years through video presentation. They smartly, enthusiastically and with pride shared their knowledge about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and contributions to India’s history.
Mental Health Day was held on October 11th. This day created awareness among students on the importance of mental health. They participated in the story telling titled “My Gratitude Jar” with the moral lesson of being grateful and being thankful in small & big things. Questions were also asked about the story. They drew their Gratitude Jar, and inside it was their drawing of anything that makes them happy or thankful.
Pinktober: Wear for a Cause activity was conducted on October 26th. October is National Breast Cancer awareness month. Students wore anything in pink colour (dress if available, bangles, ribbons, and more) to support and show great respect for those fighting the great fight. Some of them wore white shirt with pink coloured ribbon. Fun activity about stories of different characters with moral lesson of overcoming trials and winning each battle in life was also included.
Grade 2 (Girls)
