GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Read With Me activity will be organized on September 24th. Parents will be invited to tell a story to the students. It aims to develop vocabulary through listening, speaking and reading skills. It will also help to inculcate love for reading and to encourage more involvement of parents to their ward’s learning.

Thematic Assembly will be held on September 27th. This assembly will help to encourage student’s participation. It will also help them recognize and identify some common animals. They will enumerate the importance of animals and tell how these animals help us.

KG 2

Read With Me activity will be organized on September 10th. During this activity, parents will read a story to their ward. It aims to instill in students the habit of good reading.

Good Food Fair will be conducted from September 13th to 17th. This week long activity will help to inculcate in students the good habits of eating healthy food. It will also create awareness among them aboout healthy food and effect of junk food on our body.

Thematic Assembly will be held on September 28th. This assembly will be an opportunity for presentation by students showing appreciation and gratitude to all the people who help us in so many ways.

Grade 1 (Girls)

Art Competition will be conducted on September 17th. The purpose of this competition is to motivate students to enhance their talent. It will also be an opportunity for them to flaunt their creative side through the art.

Grade 2 (Girls)

Arabic Declamation will be held on September 14th. Through this declamation, students will be encouraged to speak on a particular topic. It will help to develop their language skills and their confidence. It will also be effective to grasp a new language.

English Declamation will be held on September 30th. Students will get an opportunity to gain more insights on their language skills and enhance it, hence gaining more confidence.

Grade 1 (Boys)

Health Education will be organized from September 2nd till 9th. The objective is to educate students on the physical & mental wellbeing at all times and in all places. They will be able to follow simple rules and abide by instructions to keep in good health & spirits.

Colouring Competition will be conducted on September 17th. This competition aims to motivate students to bring their drawings to life by colouring them suitably. It will also help to develop a sense of achievement through experience of creativity.

Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)

Mindfulness Session will be conducted on September 10th. Through this session, students will achieve a state of alertness and pay attention to the happenings in their surroundings. It will also help to increase the resilience and wellbeing of them in all the areas of performance.

Science Exhibition will be organized on September 23rd & 24th. Students will be engaged in problem solving approach to various day to day concerns. They will work on sustainability ideas to go green. It will help to encourage scientific creativity providing exploratory experiences to them.

Health & Happiness Session will be held on September 24th. This session will help to develop a strong sense of contentment and experience positive feelings. They will indulge in various games and fun sessions. They will also spread cheer and joy.

Grade 2 (Boys)

Arabic Declamation will be held on September 14th. This competition will help students to enhance their fluency and self- expression skills in Arabic. They will speak a few sentences in Arabic on a given topic with complete comprehension.

English Declamation will be held on September 30th. Students will speak on a given topic and build confidence by conveying their pieces. It aims to develop their fluency, audibility and expression in language skills.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)

Mindfulness activity will be organized on September 3rd. Through different activities, students will demonstrate mindfulness. It will help to develop mindfulness in them. It will also create the right mindset for effective learning.

Arabic Declamation (Inter-House competition) will be conducted on September 10th. The purpose for students is to enhance their Arabic public speaking skills and spark healthy positive competition.

5 Pillars of Islam activity will be held on September 14th. Students will participate in activity based on the topic. It will create awareness among them of the basic beliefs of Islam- 5 Pillars of Islam.

Science Activity (model making / project innovation & sustainability) will be conducted on September 15th. This activity aims to encourage & develop scientific curiosity and independent learning through model making. Students will create innovative models on sustainability.

Math Quiz will be conducted on September 20th. Students will take part in this quiz to develop their critical thinking. It will also help to stimulate enthusiasm and a love for mathematics.

Grade 4 (Girls)

Student Council Meeting will be held on September 30th. During this meeting, student leaders will discuss relevant school matters. It will help to develop their leadership skills, time management and discipline.

Grade 3 & 4

Sands of Time Wall (SST) will be organized on September 13th. This activity will create awareness among students of the UAE’s past and present. They will be engaged in a couple of activities related to the topic to have a better understanding. It will also help to enhance knowledge on the topic.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)

Math’s Quiz (1st round) will be conducted on September 13th. This competition aims to motivate students to participate more in the subject, hence develop better skills. It will also help to promote interest in math, challenge young minds and enrich their vision. Winners in this first round will move on to the next round to compete further.

Science Model (designing sustainability) will be conducted from September 13th to 17th. The purpose for students is to develop innovative skills of design along with conservation strategies for future.

Slide Show will be held on September 16th. Through this activity, a PowerPoint presentation will be shown to all students. It aims to spread awareness of Islam, the 5 pillars of Islam and the UAE.

Math’s Quiz (final round) will be conducted on September 20th. The objective is to promote interest in math, challenge young minds and enrich their vision. Winners will be awarded with certificates.

Health & Wellness session will be held on September 21st. This session will make students aware of proper nutrition & adequate sleep, how physical activity can all impact their academic performance and overall mental & physical wellness. It will help them to improve on the important aspects of good health and wellness.

Student Council Meeting will be conducted on September 30th. During this meeting, Student Council members will talk about the topics “Well-being discussion on health, happiness & prosperity” and “Let’s be creative”. They will learn why creativity is important and what impact it has on us. They will also create posters with the theme titled ‘helping others’. Islamic Values at IHS (creating awareness about UAE culture, the Islam and focusing on Zakat), Happy Individuals who appreciate customs, values & beliefs of their own culture and the cultures of others, United in Prosperity, Happiness & Well-being, Goodwill Character traits happiness from within and Spread Happiness & Tolerance towards all will also be included. They will promote a high level of cultural understanding and global awareness. It will help them learn the character traits such as discipline, responsibility and awareness.

Grade 4 (Boys)

English Declamation will be organised on September 8th. The purpose is to enhance public speaking skills and self-confidence. Students will record a video speaking any one of the topics shared with them.

Talent’s Day will be held on September 24th. This day will be an opportunity for students to exhibit their artistic & musical talents on stage and thereby improve their self-confidence. They will showcase their talents in singing, dancing, playing instruments.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Challenge your Mind’ will be conducted on September 6th for grade 4. This talk aims to encourage students to cope with and challenge themselves in the ‘New Normal’.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Friendship’ will be conducted on September 7th for grade 1. This talk will help students retain and develop friendships in the ‘New Normal’.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Healthy Participation and Wellbeing’ will be conducted on September 13th for grade 2. The objective of this talk is to help students participate in a manner that enhances wellbeing.
