GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Cleanliness Week will be conducted on June 4th. The objective is to inculcate cleanliness habits and proper hygiene among students. It will also create awareness of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). They will talk about proper hygiene and cleanliness. They will also be encouraged to talk about taking care of the environment.

Friendship Day will be celebrated on June 11th. Through this day, students will make a card for their new friend to be given when they come to school. It will help to boost their happiness and emotional growth. It will also help to inculcate values of caring and sharing.

Crazy Hat Day will be held on June 18th. The purpose is to encourage parent and child bonding while doing or decorating the hat. They will wear a hat specially designed by them and their parents during a live session. It aims to foster student’s social skills.

Father’s Day will be celebrated on June 21st. During live zoom session, father and child will cook together. It aims to celebrate & honour their fathers, and the father figures on their lives. It will also be an opportunity to appreciate their father more.

KG 1 & KG 2

SSCS (Term 1) will be organised on June 2nd. This zoom live meeting will help communicate to parents the specific ideas of how to improve their ward in the areas of learning and behavior. It also aims to assure them that the school will be supporting them hand in hand for the improvement of their ward.

KG 2

Gratitude Day will be held on June 11th. In line with the current situation globally, as a token of gratitude to all the Frontliners (doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen etc.) with the theme "We Heal As One" #weareinthistogether, students will write a message in a very artistic way, this includes, drawing, craft (making of cards) or a simple note thanking the Frontliners for their heroic deeds. The said outputs will be compiled as a video and will be posted on twitter. It aims to instill the essence of gratitude in them. It will also be an opportunity for appreciation and giving high regard to the hard work, services and effort of all the Frontliners.

Father’s Day will be celebrated on June 21st. This day will be an opportunity for students to show and express their love, adoration and gratitude to their father. They will paint their hands with blue/tan colors with the theme ’How Amazing My Dad Is’. They will stamp it on the bottom of a white paper with a heading ‘You are my Favorite Superhero!’. They will let it dry and draw any superhero that best described their dad. The output will be shown during the live session. Personalized Father's Day Necktie- designing the tie with their dad during the live session will also be included.

Cleanliness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 25th. This activity aims awareness of the important role of cleanliness to one’s life. The week will start with introducing the importance of cleanliness. Students will be engaged in activities using seeds, making robots or other designs using recyclable materials available at home.

Grade 1

Show and Tell Activity (English) will be organised on June 14th. This activity will be an opportunity for students to observe the visual objects and connect & describe the relevant toy in their own words. They will find it easier to relate to known objects and develop the skill of connectivity with known vocabulary.

Pencil Sharpening Activity will be organised on June 18th. Through this activity, students will gain confidence to create an art work with a bio-friendly substance. It will sharpen their creative skills in art & craft. It will also be an opportunity to participate in an environment friendly activity.

Grade 1 & 2

Environmental Poster Making and Slogan Writing (World Environment Day celebration) will be held on June 4th. The objective is to develop awareness on the importance of making the planet green and respecting nature. Students will also learn the value of sustainability in daily life.

JAM Competition (English) will be conducted on June 11th. This competition will help students to enhance their language skills like spontaneity, fluency and expression. It will also help to boost their confidence by going live with their speeches in the online classes.

Poster Making with the theme titled ‘Eat Healthy and be Safe’ will be organised on June 16th for grade 1 and on June 17th for grade 2. The purpose is to design a poster depicting healthy eating habits and spread awareness on its importance in keeping our body fit & disease free. Students will include fresh & healthy foods in their daily diet and make wiser choices.

International Yoga Day / Father’s Day will be held on June 21st. The objective is to develop fitness of mind and body through a Yoga session and respect the contribution of the father in one’s life. Students will participate in a live yoga session and thereby enhance mindfulness. They will also create greeting cards for their dads and acknowledge their contribution.

Grade 2

Story Telling Activity (English) will be organised on June 14th. During this activity, students will narrate a story in sequence using relevant vocabulary. It will help to boost their confidence through a live story telling session. It will also develop their good communication skills in terms of oral expression.

Design a Happy Classroom will be organised on June 18th. Students will spread cheer and gain confidence by designing their own happy classroom. They will design a happy classroom of their choice and enhance their creative skills.

Grades 1 to 4

School PFG will be conducted on June 18th. Through this meeting, the school will review the suggestions of the parent body and incorporates changes if deemed suitable for the welfare of the students. It will also help to clear communication regarding school policies, functioning systems and concerns with parents.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)

Mandala Art Activity will be organized on June 1st. Through this activity, students will be able to create new Mandala designs. It aims to expose them to Mandala Art which is a geometric configuration of symbols.

PPT presentation on Health & Safety will be organized on June 1st. The purpose is to create awareness among students about health and safety in the present pandemic situations. It will help them understand the different ways of keeping themselves and their families safe.

Islamic Poster Making (Inter-House Competition) will be conducted on June 8th for grade 4 and on June 9th for grade 3. This competition will test the creativity skills of the Islamic students and their knowledge about the religion. It will also be an opportunity to exhibit their creativity skills and abilities. They will create poster on the topic ‘Eid’ and post it online.

Grade 3

People of India - freedom fighters (SST) will be conducted on June 2nd for boys and on June 4th for girls. Students will be involved in puzzle or google form quiz to be posted in proprofs.com wherein they will also get a certificate if their answers are accurate. It will also be an opportunity for them to get a better understanding of freedom fighters of India.

Grade 3 & 4

World Environment Day will be held on June 4th. Through this day, students will be engaged in various activities. It aims to inspire people worldwide to stop negative environmental changes, to focus on environment conditions and encourage people to be the active part of positive changes in the environment on earth in order to ensure the safe future of our planet. It will also help to encourage awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Messages through Thought for the Day, Craft Work on Best Out of Waste - they will express their views on how they can contribute to a greener & cleaner world in recess radio, and Innovative Slogans designed by them will be included.

SST Activity (We are the World) will be organised on June 11th. The purpose for students is to develop their interest in knowing the various cultures of different countries. They will participate in google form quiz on world culture (language spoken, food tourist destination of different countries).

Maths Exhibition will be conducted from June 14th to 17th for girls and from June 14th to 18th for boys. Students will be given an opportunity to showcase their skills in different Math topics. They will make an object, speak about it and post their video either on google classroom or flipgrid. The link for this will be available so that the other students can visit these assignments. It will help to build their confidence in mathematics skills. It will also promote interest in math, challenge young minds and enrich their vision.

SST Activity- Symbols of the Union (Emarati Culture) will be organised on June 15th. This activity will help students to know and appreciate the different aspects of the country we live in. Quiz to be posted with picture in google classroom.

International Yoga Day/Father’s Day will be held on June 21st. The objective is to create awareness among students about the holistic benefits of yoga. They will learn techniques like stretches, bends and breathing exercises. Live sessions, recess radio speech on the importance of yoga and healthy lifestyle will be included.

Know Your BMI will be conducted on June 22nd. Students will be given a demonstration on how to calculate their BMI. It will create awareness among them of healthy body weight. It will also help them focus on their eating and living patterns.

Student Council Meeting will be organised on June 24th. The purpose is for the development of leadership skills, time management and discipline. It also aims to turn students into well-developed individuals who achieve their full potential and will contribute positively to the society. Student Council members will meet through zoom session to discuss a few agendas.

Open House will be organised on June 30th. Through this online meeting on zoom, parents and teachers will connect to discuss the improvement on students learning, progress and behavior. Guidelines on how parents could support and encourage their wards to be successful learners will also be provided.

Grade 3 (Boys)

English Recitation competition will be conducted on June 4th. Students will record a video in which they will recite any poem of their choice and submit it in google classroom assignments. It will be an opportunity for them to recite the poem with confidence, voice modulation, expression and gestures.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)

Live, Love and Laugh (L3 Session) will continue till this month. Every morning students will participate in the L3 sessions which are combination of school prayer, thought for the day and mindfulness. It will be a healthy way of starting the day. It aims to give them an energetic start along with some thoughtfulness.

Online Recess Radio will continue till this month. Students will prepare speeches on relevant topics emphasizing on important days, recent happenings, basic etiquettes or even their views and suggestions on school activities. It will be a platform to voice their opinions which truly matters. It is also a unique form to develop their public speaking skills and boost their confidence to speak in an in-house entertainment platform.

Leadership Training will be organized on June 5th & 6th. This training with externa/internal resource person aims to inculcate leadership skills to the selected team of Student Council and help emerge themselves into leaders.

Islamic Poster Making will be conducted on June 8th for grade 3 with the topic titled ‘Ramadan’ and on June 9th for grade 4 with the topic titled ‘Eid’. Students will exhibit their artistic and creative skills to portray the topic. They will be assigned the topic and hand-in their poster in classroom assignments.

Investiture Ceremony will be held on June 10th. Students will be given a nomination form and the best five will be selected for online interview. It aims to inculcate the qualities of leadership, discipline, responsibility, team spirit and more.

JAM Competition will be conducted on June 11th. The objective is to develop speaking skills and boosts confidence of students. They will select any one topic out of five topics. They will also be given 5 minutes to ponder upon it. They will speak in front of the class live. Best three will be selected for Lit Fest preliminary round.

Declamations will be organised on June 16th for Arabic and on June 29th for Hindi. Students will be given three topics in advance. They can choose any one topic, record and post their videos in google classroom. It will help to enhance their public speaking skills, develop oratory skills and boost confidence.

Grade 4 (Boys)

English Declamation will be organised on June 17th. The purpose is to enhance public speaking skills and self-confidence. Students will record a video speaking any one of the topics shared with them.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

CPD Training will be conducted on June 1st for Counsellors, Special Educators and Speech Therapists. The topic is ‘Supporting High School Counselors during COVID’.

Well-Being Care Letters will be organised through the entire month of June, 2020 for students, parents and staff. These letters will equip them with concrete tools for them to practice well-being.
