Thematic Assembly titled ‘Family’ was held on June 25th. Students participated in the virtual online assembly. Each one enacted the role of a family member and described their role in the family. It helped them understand the importance of having a family and the role of each family member. They performed on “The Finger Family Song”. They also shared their individual recordings. All of which was put together and presented for all. It aimed to work as a team. It also helped them develop their personal, social, emotional and innovative skills making them more confident & independent learners. It was a great delight to watch them confidently speaking their lines independently.
KG 1 & KG 2
World Environment Day activities was held on June 4th. Through this activity, a story titled “We can Save the Earth” was narrated with a moral for students. They were able to understand that they could save the planet Earth by planting more trees, saving water, saving energy, not littering the ocean and saying No to Plastic. They learnt the importance of 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). It taught them how to use the resources wisely and do their bit towards a more sustainable & inhabitable world.
D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) begun on June 4th. Students brought a book of their choice to read. A dedicated time is allotted every Thursday when they pick-up different kinds of books to read and explore as they enjoy listening to stories narrated by their teachers. It created opportunities to increase their knowledge & vocabulary and to develop the pleasure of reading. It also aimed to encourage families at home to designate a special time to drop everything and read together.
International Yoga Day (Yoga for All) was celebrated on June 21st. This day aimed to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. It also helped students to boost their self-esteem and confidence bringing learning on an experiential level. They participated in week-long yoga during their sync sessions along with their friends and teachers. They practiced the different postures of yoga and shared about the benefits of each. It brought in them compassion, mindfulness, strength and flexibility. The culmination of this activity was done through a live broadcast delivered by our teachers and all our students, parents & staff participated in it.
Story Time with Dad (Father’s Day) was held on June 21st. The objective for students was to realize and honor the contribution of fathers in the society. They celebrated with great enthusiasm the fatherhood, paternal bonds and efforts of male parents towards their family & society. It was also an opportunity for father-child bonding which helped in their personal, social and emotional development. They used their creativity to make beautiful cards for their fathers to express respect, honor and love. They also recited beautiful poems and songs for their dad, their superheroes. Fathers volunteered to be with their wards during the sync sessions and they narrated stories using resources like puppets, PPT. It helped students to enhance their reading skills and vocabulary development.
Wellness Week was conducted from June 22nd to 24th. Through stories & video titled “Eat Healthy Stay Wealthy” students learnt about healthy lifestyle including hygiene, fitness and healthy eating habits awareness. The fitness activities helped to boost their academic performances and their physical & emotional development. They were also involved in making “Crazy Hat”. They wore it during their sync sessions and spoke about their hats to their peers & teachers. It aimed to create healthy school environments where proper nutrition, physical activity and wellness are all valued.
PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) begun on June 30th. The purpose was to give a platform to both the teachers and the parents to come together. They discussed students’ performance and work on the next steps as learning continues. It was an opportunity to discuss the student's academic progress in details as well as their performance during the DL mode.
Gratitude Day (Salutation to All Our Frontliners) was held on June 2nd. Students prepared cards & banners, recorded their messages and posted on padlet for the Frontline staff such as Policeman, Doctors & Nurses. It aimed to instill a feeling of wellbeing and to spread positivity. It also helped them know the importance of gratitude in our lives. It encouraged them to express love and respect for all our frontline heroes of the community.
Thematic Assembly (Global Awareness – Country) was conducted on June 25th. During this virtual online assembly, students talked about France- Flag, National symbol, their culture, greetings, food, language and famous monuments & their importance. They also magnificently performed “Can Can Dance”. They shared their individual recordings. It was put together and presented for all of them. They worked as a team and showed #weareinthistogether. It helped to enhance their language and communication skills. It also helped to develop their personal, social, emotional & innovative skills making them more confident and independent learners.
Grade 1 & 2
World Environment Day was held on June 4th. This day created awareness among students about taking care of our environment. They made slogans and drawing related to taking care of environment.
Father’s Day was celebrated on June 21st. Through this special event, father and child joined the fun challenging games. They celebrated the paternal bonding and appreciated all the fathers & fatherly figures.
Virtual Tour was conducted from June 21st to 25th. Students were engaged in virtual tour during their activity time. Different places in Dubai were shown. It created awareness among them about Dubai landmarks.
Wellness Week was held from June 21st till 25th. During this week, International Yoga Day was celebrated. All students and staff participated with this huge virtual yoga session. Students were also involved in Crazy Hat Day. They made different crazy hats and wore it throughout the day for all sessions. It helped to promote awareness of healthy living.
Mom’s Kitchen was organised from June 1st to 3rd. This activity helped to promote the healthy eating habit for students. Mother & child prepared healthy food and talked about it during sync session.
Grades 3 to 5
World Environment Day was held on June 5th. This day was an opportunity for students to speak about their understanding of ‘Environment Day. They also made plant pots of different kinds and reused wastepaper to make artwork.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21st. During this day, students, parents and staff took part in Yoga at their homes. It was a live event throughout the school.
Father’s Day Celebration was held on June 21st. Through this celebration, students made Father’s Day cards and shared with their fathers.
Wellness Week was conducted on June 22nd for ‘Crazy Hat Day and on June 30th for ‘Wellbeing Day’. Students wore their ‘Crazy Hat’ creations during their sync sessions throughout the day and Parent Talk was arranged on ‘wellness & wellbeing’. Short videos of parents talking on wellbeing and wellness shared with students during their sync sessions.
Grades 6 to 8
World Environment Day was held on June 4th. This day was an opportunity for students to spread awareness to fellow students about need to keep the environment clean and green. Awareness presentations were arranged by them during assembly time.
Virtual Tour was organised from June 16th to 18th. Students from grade 6 got information about geographical areas of Mt. Everest while students from grade 7 & 8 learned about features of Al Noor Mosque including simplicity in the architecture of the Mosque. It was both educational and entertainment purposes for them.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21st. Through this day, the importance of keeping body active and flexible was shared. Yoga sessions were arranged for students and their family to spread awareness about it.
Wellness Week was conducted from June 21st till 25th. This week created awareness among students about wellness. They were encouraged to spread the awareness to their family and friends. Various activities like ‘Yoga’ sessions and ‘Crazy Hat’ day were included.
Grade 9 & 10
World Environment Day activities (Assembly, Awareness) was held on June 4th. The objective was to spread awareness among students about the issues of the environment. It also aimed to sensitize them about the need for conserving environment around us. They actively participated in the celebration as well as became an active agent in developing environmental safety measures. Thematic assembly was conducted by each class with great excitement.
Review Assessment – 1 was conducted from June 4th to 11th and Review Assessment – 2 was conducted from June 21st to 27th. These pen and paper tests were arranged online. It helped to evaluate students’ learning and progress on an ongoing basis.
Virtual Tour planned from June 16th till 18th was postponed to July 2nd.
Father’s Day was celebrated on June 21st. On this special occasion, students showed their gratitude and love to their fathers in the assembly. They also made special cards for their loving superhero. It aimed to instill in them the value of love and gratitude for their father. It was an opportunity for them to recognize & remember the endless efforts, initiatives and contributions of their very own superhero.
International Yoga Day was held on June 21st. This day created awareness of the amazing and natural benefits of yoga. It also helped to promote good mental and physical health of students through yoga. It motivated them to choose an active lifestyle that will help to build the required skills to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Yoga exercises were done in the morning assembly during the mindfulness sessions. Live yoga session during the school hours was also included.
Wellness Week (Crazy Hat Day) was conducted on June 22nd. Students attended classes with self-designed crazy hats. It aimed to provide them with an opportunity for fun and enjoyment for the wellness of the mind.

Wellbeing Care Letters were organised through the entire month of June, 2020 for students, parents and staff. These letters equipped them with concrete tools for them to practice well-being. It also helped them enhance their wellbeing & positivity and strengthen their coping skills & mental health.
Grade 1 & 2
PTCS was organised on June 29th & 30th. This interactive session with parents was an opportunity to give constructive feedback about their ward’s performance over the past three months. Students’ performance for DL was shared and discussed between parent and teacher.
Grades 3 to 5
Virtual Investiture Ceremony was held on June 28th. This program was school’s very first live event of the ‘virtual investiture ceremony’ where all the new Student Council Members were felicitated. They wrote their pledge on a padlet wall.
Grade 9 & 10
Student Council Elections was conducted on June 16th. This online voting was administered in zoom meetings arranged house-wise. It provided students an opportunity to understand the democratic nature of elections.
Student Council - Virtual Investiture was held on June 28th. This Virtual Investiture Ceremony was conducted as a live event involving over 500 attendees including students, parents and teachers. It aimed to formally entrust the newly selected Student Council with their roles and responsibilities.
PTCS begun on June 30th. The purpose of this parent-teacher meeting was to review the general and academic performance of the students this far in DL.
