GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Thematic Assembly will be conducted during this month. Students will present a skit with a given theme. It will be an opportunity for them to appreciate other students performing.

KG 1 & KG 2

Teacher’s Day Celebration will be held on September 6th. This day will be an opportunity for students to acknowledge the challenges, hardships and the special role that teachers play in their lives. It will be a token of appreciation for the teachers.

Puppet Show titled ‘Welcome Back to School’ will be organised on September 6th for KG 1 and on September 7th for KG 2. This incidental learning of good habits through puppet show will help students to stimulate imagination. It also aims emotional development that improves motor skills.

Drawing & Colouring Competition will be conducted on September 8th. Students will be given a colouring template and allotted time to finish the task. Each work will be judged according to the set criteria. It will be an opportunity for them to showcase their skills through a friendly competition.

School Trip (get familiar with different departments) will be organized on September 8th for KG 1 and on September 9th for KG 2. Through this tour of the school, students will be familiarized with different activity rooms, departments and staff members.

Cool Pool Day will be held from September 13th till 17th for KG 1 and on September 27th for KG 2. The purpose of these fun water activities is to enhance student’s gross motor development. It also aims to promote personal, social and emotional development.

D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) will be conducted during this month (every Thursday). Students will bring a book to read. There will be a lot of hands on activities. Extended learning activities will also be included where reading is the mainstream of the day. It will give more opportunities for them to read books they want and enjoy the pleasure of reading. It also aims to encourage families at home to designate a special time to drop everything and read at home.

KG 2

Al Rawabi Dairy Farm Field Trip will be organized on September 13th, 14th & 15th. The objective of this educational trip for students is to gain real-life experience in a dairy farm. It also aims to promote healthy food choices and eating habit. They will be engaged in a hands-on experience in a dairy farm where they will learn and understand how milk is processed.

Good Food Fair will be conducted on September 24th. Parents will be invited to prepare nutritious food for our students in a buffet style. It will help them learn the importance & benefits of nutritious food for the body and practice healthy eating habit. It will also provide opportunity for parent collaboration.

Global Awareness (Thematic Assembly) will be held on September 27th. Through thematic assembly, students will present a country. They will have PPT of the country’s national symbols. They will also talk about the country’s culture and way of greetings. It will help other students to learn and get familiarize about a new country. They will learn their national symbols, culture and greetings. It will also encourage them to develop self-confidence, language and communication.

Grade 1 & 2

Teacher’s Day Celebration will be held on September 6th. Through a simple program, students will appreciate the hard work and dedication of all the teachers.

Quiz Week will be conducted from September 6th till 10th. The purpose for students is to enhance knowledge and awareness related to different topics based on the grade level.

Hindi Diwas will be celebrated on September 14th. During this celebration, students will show their talent and skills in Hindi recitation or singing. They will present it individually or group. It aims to instill love for the language.

Grades 3 to 5

Teacher’s Day Celebration will be held on September 5th. This celebration will be an opportunity for students to share words of appreciation through greeting cards and messages for their teachers.

Inter-House Quiz Competition will be organized from September 6th till 10th. Students will participate in a general knowledge and aptitude test. It will be a competitive inter-house quiz in different subjects.

Grades 3 to 10

Student Council Investiture will be conducted on September 7th.This ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly elected Student Council members. It will be a formal ceremony for felicitating the new position holders of the Student Council 2020-21. The newly appointed Student Council will be honoured with the badges. It aims to instill in them the sense of leadership and community welfare.

Hindi Diwas will be held on September 14th. The objective is to celebrate the adoption of Hindi as a language and inculcate a love for the language. It also aims to mark the importance of the national language of India. Students will be involved in an array of programs in Hindi such as skits, dance, poetry recitation, storytelling, quiz competitions and more.

Grades 6 to 8

Teacher’s Day Celebration will be held on September 6th. Student volunteers will organize activities to entertain and show respect to their teachers. They will celebrate this day as a token of love, respect, regards, admiration, appreciation, and honor.

Inter-House Chess Competition will be organized on September 21st. This competition will provide a platform for students to improve on logical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem solving.

Innovation Expo will be conducted on September 24th. During this activity, students most creative, unique, and impactful ideas will be brought together on a platform for solving a problem worth solving for humankind.

Grades 6 to 10

Inter-House Quiz Competition (General) will be organised from September 8th to 10th. Through this healthy competition, students from each house will participate with great enthusiasm. It aims to motivate & engage them to participate intellectually and to build confidence & team spirit. It will also help to enhance their knowledge and awareness in various realms (academic and general).

Grade 9 & 10

Teacher’s Day Celebration will be held on September 6th. Students will put up variety programs in appreciation of the teachers. It will be an opportunity for them to acknowledge the efforts of teachers in promoting education and to strengthen the student-teacher relationship.

Inter-House Chess Competition will be conducted on September 20th & 21st. The objective for students is to develop sound skills in the game and a good sense of sportsmanship. They will be engaged in healthy competition against each other with their expertise in the game of chess.

Innovation Expo will be organized on September 24th. Students will present their own creations on various themes. It aims to provide a unique platform to foster and showcase their innovative skills.

ROUND SQUARE

Round Square Activities - British School Model United Nations Conference will be conducted from September 4th to 6th for grade 9 & 10. This MUN is a simulation of an actual United Nations conference, where students are tasked with solving a global issue through research, drafting, lobbying and debate to pass a suitable ‘resolution’. They will take on the roles of delegates, speakers, & chairs, representing different countries and work together with other students from different backgrounds to take part in discussions and reach a solution for the agenda they are assigned. It will also help to develop research skills through collaborative efforts and enhance debating skills along with sense of collectiveness.

World Debate Committee – International Day of Democracy will be held on September 24th for grades 5 to 10. Students from each section will be selected for the debate rounds. They will debate in group of three to five on topics related to democracy. It will help to support them to have better view on various democratic issues and voice for improvements. It also aims to motivate them to be more responsible as a citizen and develop their debating skill.

Round Square Activities Participation will be organised during this month (yet to decide) for grades 7 to 10. The objective is to develop responsible Global Citizen.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Talks for Students on the topics ‘Enlighten Students on Get set Goal (grade 8), on Bully Proofing (grade 7), and on Self Esteem (grade 6)’ will be held on September 8th, 15th & 17th respectively.

A Parent Talk on the topic ‘Enlighten Students on Foundation to Early Learning’ will be conducted on September 10th for KG 1 and KG 2 parents.

Talks for Students on the topics ‘Enlighten Students on Mindfulness (grade 4), on Time Management (grade 5), and on Bullying (grade 3)’ will be held on September 15th, 16th & 22nd respectively.

A Talk for Students on the topic ‘Enlighten Students on Managing and Handling Pressure’ will be conducted on September 16th for grade 9. This talk will help students to cope with stress and pressure. They will be counselled on how to manage & cope with the pressure and also guided on preparing for exams.

A Talk for Students on the topic ‘Enlighten Students on Exam Ready’ will be conducted on September 17th for grade 10. This talk aims to prepare students for the upcoming Board exams with useful tips and guidelines. It will help to overcome their board exam anxiety.

Talks for Students on the topics ‘Enlighten Students on Staying Safe (grade 1), and on being Responsible (grade 2)’ will be held on September 17th & 20th respectively.
