Thematic Assembly titled ‘My Family’ will be held on June 25th. During this assembly, students will perform on a short skit. It will help them in their physical, social and emotional development. It will also help them understand the importance of having a family and the role of each family member.
KG 1 & KG 2
World Environment Day activities (D.E.A.R.) will begin on June 4th (every Thursday). These activities will be an opportunity for students to read books they want and enjoy the pleasure of reading. It will also help to encourage families at home to designate a special time to drop everything and read at home.
International Yoga Day (Yoga for All) will be held on June 21st. This day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. It will also help students to boost their self-esteem and confidence. They will participate in yoga during their sync sessions along with their friends. It will help to instill confidence and to bring learning on an experiential level. They will also share their learnings and understanding about Yoga which brings in them compassion, mindfulness, generosity, focus, strength & flexibility.
A Date with Dad – Story Time (Father’s Day) will be held on June 21st. The objective is to realize and honor the contribution of fathers in the society. Students will celebrate the fatherhood, paternal bonds and efforts of male parents towards their family & society. They will also make greeting cards for their father to express respect, honor and love. Fathers will be encouraged to volunteer to be with their ward’s class and read or enact stories. It will help students to enhance their reading skills, vocabulary and parent engagement with the child.
Wellness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 24th. During this week, students will be involved in making “Crazy Hat”. They will wear it, attend their classes and discuss the same. Guided reading programs through various topics about healthy eating, doing exercise daily to keep ourselves fit and school wellness programs will be included. It aims to create healthy school environments where proper nutrition, physical activity and wellness are all valued. It will also help to boost their academic performance.
PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) will be organised from June 28th till 30th. The purpose is to identify the student’s current strengths & weaknesses and to discuss their overall performance of academic skills & topics. Physical, social and emotional development will also be included.
Gratitude Day (salutation to all our Frontliners) will be held on June 2nd. During this day, students will prepare cards, banners and record messages for the Frontline staff such as Policeman, Doctors and Nurses. It aims to instill a feeling of wellbeing and to spread positivity. It will also be an opportunity for them to express love and respect to all our frontline heroes of the community.
Global Awareness (Thematic Assembly) will be conducted on June 25th. Students will learn about a country – National symbol, culture and greetings. It will also help to enhance their language and communication skills.
Grade 1 & 2
World Environment Day will be held on June 4th. Through this day, students will write slogans and drawing related to taking care of environment. It will create awareness among them about taking care of our environment.
Wellness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 25th. During this week, ‘Crazy Hat Day’ will be celebrated. They will make different crazy hats and use it throughout the day for all sessions. Laughter session, common session for Yoga, talk sessions by Parents & Doctor on wellbeing, basic skills and healthy eating will be included. It will create awareness on physical and mental wellbeing.
Virtual Tour will be organised from June 21st till 25th. This virtual tour will create awareness among students about Dubai landmarks.
Father’s Day will be celebrated on June 21st. The objective is to celebrate the paternal bonding and appreciate all fathers and fatherly figures. Fun challenging activities will be conducted for father and child.
Mom’s Kitchen activities will be organized from June 1st to 3rd. These activities can be through live session or async. There will be a mother & child bonding moment wherein they will prepare healthy food and talk about it. An invitation to parents who are ready to conduct a live session teaching students to prepare healthy snacks will be included.
Grades 3 to 5
World Environment Day will be celebrated on June 5th. This day will be an opportunity for students to participate in various environment friendly activities and crafts.
International Yoga Day (Yoga for All) / Father’s Day will be held on June 21st. Students will be encouraged to practice Yoga at home by following a short video. It aims to make them realize the importance of Yoga on their health, mind and body.
Wellness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 25th. During this week, students will be involved in Crazy Hat Day (wellbeing), Parent Talk, Doctor’s Health Tips and Family Time. They will also have some fun by posting their pictures on padlet.com / google classroom wearing their craziest hat creations.
Grades 6 to 8
World Environment Day will be celebrated on June 4th. This day aims to bring an insight about environmental issues ranging from marine pollution, human overgrowth, global warming, sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. It will also be an opportunity for students to share their ideas about measures that should be taken to protect our earth. Special assembly to create awareness about protecting and preserving the environment around them will be included.
Virtual Tour will be conducted from June 16th to 18th. This virtual tour will help students to explore amazing places and give them remarkable learning experiences without leaving their houses. It will be planned in place of physical field trips to enhance their learning in identified areas of the curriculum.
International Yoga Day will be held on June 21st. This day will create awareness among students about Yoga that embodies the unity of mind and body. It also aims to achieve harmony and balance between the heart & soul and to achieve divine enlightenment. Yoga sessions will be arranged for students & their families to create awareness about its importance. It will help to encourage them to practice Yoga regularly.
Wellness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 25th. The objective is to bring awareness in students about self-care, managing stress and promoting healthy routine. It will also help to encourage them to create wholesome habits in their lifestyle. Student led talks/presentations/interview on various wellness themes, parent’s talk and doctor’s talk will be included.
Grade 9 & 10
World Environment Day activities (Assembly Awareness) will be held on June 4th. Students will participate in this celebration and become active agents in developing measures for environmental safety. It aims to spread awareness among them about the issues of the environment. It will also help to sensitize them about the need for conserving environment around us.
Review Assessments will be conducted on the first and third week of June.
Virtual Tour will be conducted from June 16th till 18th. This virtual tour will be an opportunity for students to learn and comprehend knowledge that is available in the identified sites. It will be an earnest attempt to replace academically relevant physical field trips.
Father’s Day Celebrations will be held on June 21st. Students will honor their father and express their love & gratitude through various activities. It also aims to instill in them the love & gratitude for their father, recognize & remember the endless efforts and the initiatives & contributions of their very own superhero.
International Yoga Day & Wellness Week will be conducted from June 21st to 25th. The purpose is to create awareness of the amazing & natural benefits of yoga, to promote students’ mental & physical health through yoga and to motivate them to embrace an active & healthy lifestyle. An array of activities to cater student well-being such as student-led talks/ presentations/ interviews on the various wellness themes will be included.
CPD Training will be conducted on June 1st for Counsellors, Special Educators and Speech Therapists. The topic is ‘Supporting High School Counselors during COVID’.
Well-Being Care Letters will be organised through the entire month of June, 2020 for students, parents and staff. These letters will equip them with concrete tools for them to practice well-being.
