Annual Day will be held on February 6th. This day forms an integral part of school activities. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity. Students will perform short skits and variety of dances.
KG 1 & KG 2
Kiddies Junction activities will be held from February 2nd to 13th. These activities will help students to develop their fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, independence, language skills, communication skills, self-confidence and creativity. KG 1 students will participate in Hands-on Activity (rubber scrunchie and do straw, pasta & play dough), in My Small World Activity (dessert sand small world) and in Performing – Dramatization (birthday party celebration). It will help to develop their gripping & counting skills, creativity & imagination through acting and recognize the things that live in dessert. They will also express the importance of protecting ourselves from heat of summer days and act out different scenarios in a birthday party. KG 2 students will be involved in My Small Word (camping small world), in Performing (day & night) and in Lego Corner (making their own model or copy the given picture). It will be an opportunity for them to recognize the things that we use in camping, create a camping small world according to his imagination & creativity and determine the activities during the day & at night. It will also help them to develop their self-esteem, cognitive skills and thinking skills.
Reading Lounge activities will be organised from February 2nd till 13th. KG 1 students will be asked to come forward one by one and roll the dice. According to the number they get they will read the sentences. Stories titled ‘just for Mum’ and ‘the Princess & the Pea’ will be narrated. It will help to increase their willingness to communicate thoughts and feelings. The sight words will be brushed up while reading the sentences. Towards the end of the story narration, pictures will be shown in which they will sequence them and make a mind map. Theme titled ‘My Country India & UAE, Sky by Day and Night’ will be included. It will help them understand the words, read from left to right, pages from top to bottom, make connections among sounds, letters, words, picture & meaning and relate stories to real life situations. KG 2 students will be shown picture and will be asked to make their own stories. Teacher will initiate the story discussing the cover and elicit answers from them. Stories titled ‘Water Fight’ and ‘Present for Mum’ will be narrated. It aims to encourage them to read a book without teachers guidance followed by a group discussion of characters and incidents in the story. It will help for their active participation and increase vocabulary. Synonyms of the words given in the book will also be asked. Theme titled ‘All About India and Weather’ will be included. It will help them to read more challenging text decoding using phonic knowledge, talks & listens with confidence and consistently showing awareness of the listener by including relevant details.
Innovation Station will be conducted from February 2nd to 13th. Students will participate in Gizmo Corner activities titled ‘our environment, seasons, sun, moon, star, day & night’ respectively. It will be an opportunity for them to acquaint & engage oneself to digital learning, experiment with sound, light, drawing & painting, create their own creativity & story, demonstrate & acquire skills in counting, phonemic awareness, develop their reading, problem-solving skills & critical thinking skills (solving puzzles), demonstrate understanding of fun games & activities, work independently, enhance their vocabulary building and demonstrate awareness of environment & seasons. In Recycling Corner activities, KG 1 students will be involved in ‘heart frame making’ while KG 2 students will be engaged in ‘woolen heart frame making’. It will be an opportunity for them to create new things from recyclable materials, learn how to insert a picture inside the frame and work independently. It will also help to develop their fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination and communication skills.
Art & Craft activities will be conducted from February 2nd till 13th. The objective for students is to develop their fine motor skills & eye-hand coordination, use different materials to create an artwork, present & express the artwork, develop creativity, combine different materials to create an artwork and enhance vocabulary skills. Flower Craft, Card Making, Flower Making and 3D Heart Making will be their activities.
Little Explorers activities will be organised from February 2nd to 13th. Through these activities, students will be involved in Teddy’s Umbrella (water experiment), Day & Night Exploration and Making a Mini Tornado respectively. It will be an opportunity for them to explore the different materials, learn & understand about the weather and about the day & night, talk about what happen to materials when combined together, predict, observe and compare. It also aims to develop their reasoning and thinking skills.
D.E.A.R. - Drop Everything And Read activity will be held on February 6th & 13th (every Thursday). The purpose of this activity for students is to give them more opportunities to read books they want and enjoy the pleasure of reading. It also aims to encourage families at home to designate a special time to drop everything and read at home. There will be a lot of hands on activities including the extended learning activities where reading is mainstream of the day.
Annual Day will be held on February 3rd. Students will celebrate the school annual day. It aims to provide an opportunity to exhibit its achievements. It will also be an opportunity for students to showcase their various talents and interact with their teachers in a more informal environment. They will perform short skits and variety of dances.
Grade 3 & 4
Thematic Assembly will be conducted on February 12th. The objective is to develop a feeling of unity among students. It also aims to motivate them with appreciation and rewards & accolades on performing well in academics & curricular activities. Student talk, PPT presentation, Supervisor’s speech and Counsellor’s talk will be included.
Student Talks on the topic ‘I am being Responsible’ will be conducted on February 10th & 11th for KG 2. The purpose is to help students understand that consequences are attached to every choice of behavior. It will also help them learn to choose action and reaction responsibly.
Sports Day will be held on February 5th for grade 3 & 4. This day will help to boost the physical and mental health of students, empower them with life skills and learn time management & discipline. It will also help them understand winning & losing is all part of the game, to accept defeat in a positive competitive spirit, to strive harder the next time to achieve what they missed out in the previous game and to boost self-confidence. March past, drill, inter-house flat race, relay race, hopping race with balancing beam and hopping race with ball & obstacles.
